DURATION: 3 – 6 months (extendable on mutual consent), 12 hours/week

The Opportunity:
The Social Media Officer will be a vital and key member of the ASCOA team and your work will involve social media support.
You are creative but also detail oriented. You are always happy to help where you can. You are a team player and are quick to do what needs to be done to achieve team goals.
This role will give you a variety of skill building opportunities including social impact, communications, social media and project management. This is a remote, unpaid role and will report to the Founder of ASCOA.
Who We Are:
The Association for Community Awareness (ASCOA) is an International NGO with headquarters in Buea, Cameroon (https://ascoa-cm.org/). ASCOA offers robust volunteer opportunities for young professionals and students looking to broaden their knowledge and skills in their field of study and community development.
The Role:
- Creation and development of various materials for social media, web, presentation, and other marketing collateral
- Strengthen and extend ASCOA’s brand guidelines and visual “voice”
- Creating, retouching, editing, and manipulating graphic and written elements for multi-departmental using ASCOA account with CANVA
- Updates and integration with website content
- Planning, implementing, managing and monitoring ASCOA’s Social Media strategy to increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts and increase sales
- Work in collaboration with the ASCOA communication team.
- Create actionable plans to grow and maintain followers
- Manage and oversee all social media content
- Measure success of every social media campaign
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with an ability to multitask
- Ability to develop creative social media content
- Knowledge of various social media platforms
- Social media-savvy and understands social media trends
- Able to combine creative campaign ideas with analytical skills to create successful posts
- Proactive with an ability to work in a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills, energy, and initiative
- Basic Microsoft office knowledge – Word, Excel, Power Point
- Bachelor’s degree or pursuing an education in graphic design, communication, or related field, or equivalent experience
