Our History

The Association for Community Awareness (ASCOA) was formally established in early 2014 in Cameroon, building upon a year of dedicated community service in Equatorial Guinea by its founder, Linus Ayangwoh Embe. During this period, Mr. Embe volunteered with the esteemed international organization Save the Children and was honored with an award from CEO Carolyn Miles. This experience significantly nurtured his passion for community service and ultimately led to the founding of ASCOA.

Since its establishment, ASCOA has successfully initiated various projects that enhance self-reliance within communities while fostering innovative methodologies for sustainable development that utilize resources judiciously. The organization is committed to prioritizing the needs of vulnerable populations and has expanded its focus on social development initiatives. ASCOA actively advocates for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and has developed into a global network, promoting open policies through its branches in Cameroon and the United States.
