Shaping Peace Together
The international day of Peace was established in 1981 by the United Nations general assembly and it is celebrated every 21st of September of every year. ASCOA organized a workshop on peace on the 19th of September 2020 in south west region Buea, Cameroon with over 200 participants to commemorate the world Peace day with the UN theme Shaping Peace Together with focus on three key issues which are: Hope, Compassion and Kindness.
Hope:
Even in the worse moments, and despite the Corona virus, we should be able to give hope to the hopeless so they can find peace in troubles times.
Compassion:
Compassion is a highly admirable trait that plays an even role in a peaceful life, we need to be compassionate with one another in order to achieve our own peace of mind and that of our society.
Kindness:
When we feel love and kindness towards others, it does not only make the feel loved and cared for, but it helps us to develop some inner peace.
The United Nations invites everyone to honor and commemorate the day through public awareness on issues related to peace.
Peace crane project was also one of the activity carryout by ASCOA, most of the participants where youth.
