Project Overview

Stigma and discrimination is one of the main reasons why people living with HIV/AIDS prefer to remain in isolation and behind the curtain. Since 2008, we have seen an increase in the number of reported cases of stigma and discrimination towards people living with HIV/AIDS . In 2009 we have seen an increase in the number of articles publish in the local newsletter which discriminate the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS in Southwest Region of Cameroon. Since HIV/AIDS is everyone’s business the Association for Community Awareness as an association defending the rights of those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, felt that it is our duty to make our contribution in addressing the issue of stigma and discrimination, and also to educate our new generation on the new development in the field of HIV/AIDS and keep them up to date with information as a way to reduce the number of discrimination and new HIV cases.
We have implemented this project with one aim in mind: – to minimize or reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS among everyone including student, staff members, and the community at large. We also mentioned and made it clear regarding information about Positive Living, which helps people living with HIV/AIDS to live longer through Positive Living.
