MARCH PASS TO COMMEMORATE THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE
PROJECT TITLE: “UNITY FOOTBALL MATCH FOR PEACE”

March Pass

Both Members and volunteers of ASCOA and members of surveyors and friend’s veteran club joined together in Buea Town stadium at 9am, followed by group pictures taken with the other party, a march pass with the banner and peace flowers in commemorating the international day of peace. It was immediately followed by a football match with the members and volunteers of ASCOA and members of surveyors and friend’s veteran club in which they played for one hour thirty minutes (1:30 mins- 45-45mins). The scores were rated at thus: (2- 3) 2 for members and volunteers of ASCOA and 3 for the surveyors and friend’s veteran club.

Reasons for Celebrating the International Day of Peace

The United Nations’ (UN) International Day of Peace is celebrated on September 21st each year to recognize the efforts of those who have worked hard to end conflict and promote peace. It is also a day of ceasefire – personal or political. This day is devoted to “commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples.” It draws attention to the importance of combatting climate change as a way to protect and promote peace throughout the world. Climate change causes clear threats to international peace and security.

International day of Peace is important in our life to have a true happiness and it can be achieve by being true to yourself as well. It is the most vital way to achieve peace. The way we feel and think of yourself is important, but you should determine which is positive and negative. It is a time for people to learn about respecting and recognizing the rights and beliefs of others. Information on the day is disseminated through flyers, posters, news articles and broadcasts, and other promotional material to raise people’s awareness about the importance of peace.
