Call for Volunteers

Since 2018, the Association for Community Awareness (ASCOA) has been coordinating the International Coastal Cleanup in Cameroon, working alongside Ocean Conservancy and the global community to tackle marine pollution and protect our coastal environments.
Over the years, this work has grown into a strong national movement. Through 37 beach cleanup initiatives, ASCOA has mobilized more than 6,332 volunteers and supported the removal of over 2,554 tons of marine litter from beaches and coastal environments.
And this year, we are ready to take action once again. On Saturday, 19 September 2026, ASCOA, as the National Coordinator of the International Coastal Cleanup in Cameroon, will organize four large-scale beach cleanups across Cameroon’s coastlines.
To make this year’s campaign a success, we are calling on 400 volunteers to join us.Whether you are a student, a community member, an environmental enthusiast, a young changemaker or simply someone who believes that a cleaner coast starts with each of us, you can be part of this movement. Together, we will remove marine debris, raise awareness about plastic pollution and, most importantly, turn collective concern into collective action for healthier coastal environments.
So, if you are ready to roll up your sleeves, take action and Sea the Change, we invite you to join the International Coastal Cleanup 2026.
Register now and be part of the movement:
